One year ago today, President Biden signed the Inflation Reduction Act into law – historic legislation led by House Democrats to lower prescription drug costs for older Americans, fight inflation, create jobs, and make the largest corporations pay their fair share.
This historic effort to deliver for working families did not receive a single vote from Republicans in Congress – including Brian Fitzpatrick.
Despite Fitzpatrick’s effort to block the Inflation Reduction Act, the historic legislation will continue to:
Allow Medicare to negotiate drug prices and caps out-of-pocket costs to $2,000, including capping the cost of insulin to $35/month
Lower energy costs and create jobs
Lower health care premiums for millions of Americans
Fight inflation and achieve historic deficit reduction
Make the biggest corporations and ultra-wealthy pay their fair share
DCCC Spokesperson Aidan Johnson:
“Fitzpatrick’s vote against capping the cost of insulin, lowering costs and fighting inflation, and creating good-paying jobs showed just how far he is willing to go to put party politics over the needs of working families. He cannot be trusted to fight for Pennsylvanians and that will cost them their seat in 2024.”
