One Year Ago Today, Bryan Steil Voted To Raise Costs, Gut Jobs, and Jeopardize Funding For Law Enforcement

One year ago today, Bryan Steil passed the Default on America Act, a partisan wish-list that risked the safety and security of Wisconsin families.

Steil’s extreme vote would have:

  • Increased taxes on middle class families and raised energy prices

  • Jeopardized over 142,000 manufacturing jobs

  • Threatened law enforcement funding

  • Gutted funding for veterans’ health care by 22 percent – resulting in nearly 81,000 fewer health service jobs and 30 million fewer veteran outpatient visits

  • Threatened access to Social Security and Medicare

The 118th Congress has been mired in chaos, crisis, and confusion. Thanks to Steil, history will remember this Congress being the least productive in modern American history.

DCCC Spokesperson Mallory Payne:
“Bryan Steil will continue to face the consequences for supporting a plan that would have cut manufacturing jobs, raised costs, and threatened the safety of Wisconsin families. Time and time again, Steil has refused to break from his party and put middle class families first.”
