One Year Ago Today, Miller-Meeks Voted To Raise Costs, Gut Jobs, and Jeopardize Funding For Law Enforcement

One year ago today, Mariannette Miller-Meeks passed the Default on America Act, a partisan wish-list that risked the safety and security of Iowa families.

Miller-Meeks’ dangerous vote would have:

  • Increased taxes on middle class families and raised energy prices

  • Gutted funding for veterans’ health care by 22 percent – resulting in nearly 81,000 fewer health service jobs and 30 million fewer veteran outpatient visits

The 118th Congress has been mired in chaos, crisis, and confusion. Thanks to Miller-Meeks, history will remember this Congress being the least productive in modern American history.

DCCC Spokesperson Mallory Payne:
“Mariannette Miller-Meeks will continue to face the consequences for supporting a plan that would have raised costs, jeopardized Social Security and Medicare, and threatened the safety of Iowa families. Time and time again, Miller-Meeks has refused to break from her party and put middle class families first.”
