ONE YEAR AGO TODAY: Rep. Abigail Spanberger Voted to Lower Costs and Provide Relief for Working Families

One year ago today, President Biden signed the Inflation Reduction Act into law – historic legislation championed by Rep. Abigail Spanberger to lower prescription drug costs, hold pharmaceutical companies accountable, and create new jobs.

The Inflation Reduction Act will continue to:

  • Give Medicare the power to negotiate drug prices and cap out-of-pocket costs to $2,000, including capping the cost of insulin to $35/month

  • Lower energy costs and create jobs

  • Lower healthcare premiums for millions of Americans

DCCC Spokesperson Viet Shelton:
“Thanks to Rep. Abigail Spanberger, the Inflation Reduction Act is delivering for everyday Virginians by capping the price of insulin, lowering costs, and creating good-paying jobs. While House Republicans have attempted to stonewall economic growth in order to advance an extreme agenda, Rep. Spanberger remains laser-focused on delivering for Virginia’s working families.”
