One year ago today, President Biden signed the Inflation Reduction Act into law – historic legislation championed by Congresswoman Angie Craig to lower prescription drug costs for older Americans, fight inflation, create jobs, and make the largest corporations pay their fair share.
This historic effort to deliver for working families did not receive a single vote from Republicans in Congress.
The Inflation Reduction Act will continue to:
Allow Medicare to negotiate drug prices and caps out-of-pocket costs to $2,000, including capping the cost of insulin to $35/month
Lower energy costs and create jobs
Lower health care premiums for millions of Americans
Fight inflation and achieve historic deficit reduction
Make the biggest corporations and ultra-wealthy pay their fair share
DCCC Spokesperson Mallory Payne:
“Congresswoman Angie Craig passed historic legislation to deliver for the people who need it the most – capping the cost of insulin, lowering costs and fighting inflation, and creating good-paying jobs. While MAGA Republicans have attempted to stonewall economic growth in order to advance an extreme agenda, Congresswoman Craig and House Democrats remain laser focused on delivering for working families.”
