One year ago today, Ryan Zinke passed the Default on America Act, a partisan wish-list that risked the safety and security of Montana families.
Zinke’s extreme vote would have:
Raised housing costs for more than 600,000 families who would lose access to rental assistance
Increased taxes on middle class families and raised energy prices
Gutted funding for veterans’ health care by 22 percent – resulting in nearly 81,000 fewer health service jobs and 30 million fewer veteran outpatient visits
The 118th Congress has been mired in chaos, crisis, and confusion. Thanks to Zinke, history will remember this Congress as being the least productive in modern American history.
DCCC Spokesperson Mallory Payne:
“Ryan Zinke will continue to face the consequences for supporting a plan that would have raised housing costs, cut veterans’ health benefits, and threatened the safety of Montana families. Time and time again, Zinke has refused to break from his party and middle class families are paying the price.”
