OOPS: Karoline Leavitt Opposes Suspending Debt Ceiling, Forgets Trump Admin Raised Ceiling When She Was at White House

Karoline Leavitt continues to take irresponsible and reckless positions in the mad dash to be the most extreme candidate in the NH-01 GOP primary. Yesterday, she was at it again, tweeting in support of crashing our economy.

Leavitt, who loves to tout her work in the Trump administration, appears to have forgotten that during her tenure at the White House, President Trump and his staff supported raising the debt ceiling — and oversaw the rise of our national debt by almost $7.8 trillion.

Leavitt’s position isn’t just her flexing right-wing Twitter muscles. A study from Moody’s found that the partisan games Leavitt is calling for have serious consequences. Their study found a prolonged impasse over the debt ceiling would cost the U.S. economy up to 6 million jobs, wipe out $15 trillion in household wealth, and send the unemployment rate up to 9 percent.
