Out of Touch Republican Leaders to GOP Candidates: Talk More About Trump to Sell His Disastrous Agenda

Donald Trump’s approval fell to its lowest ever over the weekend

Following a devastating GOP-manufactured shutdown that weaponized hunger and failed to extend ACA tax credits, and a blowout in the off-year elections, Republican campaign officials continue to encourage candidates to bear hug their unpopular president and sell his awful agenda that is making everything more expensive for Americans.

The Associated Press reports:

Republican officials aiming to avoid another defeat in next fall’s midterms are encouraging candidates to embrace the president fully and talk more about his accomplishments.

Trump’s Big, Ugly Law has become the least popular piece of legislation in modern American history because it rips away health care and food assistance to give massive tax breaks to GOP billionaire donors – and the public knows it.

Republicans promised to lower the high cost of living on the campaign trail, but have failed to deliver. Since January, Democrats have overperformed in special elections by more than 13% and Democrats swept statewide elections this month, winning in key battleground districts in New Jersey and Virginia.

DCCC Spokesperson Viet Shelton
“Republicans will lose the House majority next year because every single one of their candidates are being press ganged by Trump and the NRCC to ignore the needs of working families and brazenly lie about the affordability crisis while everything becomes more expensive.”
