PA-01: Nearly 50 Years After Roe, Vulnerable Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick Threatens Women’s Freedoms

49 years after Roe v. Wade, Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick sides with extremist crusade to take away women’s freedoms

As the nation celebrates 49 years since Roe v. Wade gave women the constitutional right to an abortion, extremist Republicans like Fitzpatrick are still trying to take our nation backwards and control women’s decisions.

From voting against legislation to protect Pennsylvanians from attacks on their abortion rights, to standing by as extreme anti-choice Republicans urge the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade, Fitzpatrick has placed himself on the wrong side of history.

A strong majority of Americans support Roe, yet Fitzpatrick has refused to stand up to the nearly 600 dangerous Republican efforts introduced this past year to control women’s bodies and take away their freedoms.

The truth is, if Brian Fitzpatrick had his way, 36 million women across the country could have their constitutionally-secured rights stripped away from them.

DCCC Spokesperson James Singer
“Make no mistake — Brian Fitzpatrick is just another out-of-touch politician trying to dictate women’s decisions. Fitzpatrick is a serious threat to the freedom women have had the last 49 years, and he won’t hesitate to help Republicans ban abortion nationwide.”
