PA-07: GOP Debate Devolves into Attacks Over China Profiteering, Embrace of 2020 Election Lies & Criminalizing Abortion

Dellicker & Scheller fight over who is the most right-wing

Now we know why Lisa Scheller was ducking debates.

In her first debate, she was attacked relentlessly by her opponent and took toxic positions that would hurt PA-07 residents.

Read the full recap here from Lehigh Valley Live, watch here, and here are some highlights below:

Scheller was hammered for her company’s extensive work in and for China:

DELLICKER: “I think one of the most important things that needs to be answered in this debate is detailed information about Lisa Scheller’s ties to China. We know according to press reports that she’s opening a new factory over there in 2023 to coincide when she hopes to become a member of Congress. We know from press reports that she’s been investing in infrastructure over there and we’ve also learned she’s actually in partnership with a state owned enterprise.”

{…}

“According to financial disclosures, you earn between 33-95% of your business income from Chinese operations – somewhere between $1.2-$7 Million. You are not throttling back your investments in China, you’re doubling down and this company that you’re partnering with according to the press reports is a state owned enterprise run by members of CCP. I don’t know how somebody can go to Congress and cast votes on national security in Washington while you’re simultaneously cutting ribbons on a new factory in China.”

{…}

“It is absolutely not true that you supported Trump’s tariffs. In fact, you went down to Washington and you testified against Trump’s tariffs and you hired lobbyists to fight against Trump’s tariffs.

Scheller was pathetically pushed into claiming her 2020 election loss was stolen:

SCHELLER: “Election integrity absolutely is on the mind of Americans. In fact, in 2020, I was up by more than 30,000 votes in my race against Susan Wild only to find myself 3 days later after mail-in ballots were counted being told that I lost the election, so I know personally what election integrity feels like.

Both candidates supported criminalizing abortion at around 6 weeks:

HOST: “Would you vote for a federal heartbeat protect act that would make it a crime for a physician to perform an abortion when there is a detectable fetal heartbeat unless the life of the mother is at stake?”

SCHELLER: “Yes, I’m open to it.”

DELLICKER: “Yes.”

Scheller supported defunding Planned Parenthood and reaffirmed her opposition to Roe v. Wade:

Scheller: I am pro-life. I support pro-life policies, and I would never vote for a bill that would codify Roe v. Wade. I want to build a culture of life and to do that we need to begin by defunding Planned Parenthood completely, not just the abortion piece, and every organization that provides abortions.”
