PA Congressman Says Governor Whose Home Was Attacked in Act of Political Violence Has “To Tone It Down Too”

In response to Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro’s home being set on fire in an act of political violence, Congressman Dan Meuser responded that “they got to tone it down too. I mean, every action Josh Shapiro has taken so far against the president has either been a lawsuit or a falsehood.”

Congressmen Fitzpatrick, Mackenzie, Bresnahan, and Perry must denounce their colleague’s dangerous insinuation that this violence was acceptable immediately.

DCCC Communications Director Courtney Rice:
“Not only are Congressman Meuser’s comments absurd, they’re dangerous. Political violence has no place in our country and must be unequivocally condemned. Governor Shapiro put it best: Congressman Meuser failed to speak with moral clarity in this moment. Fitzpatrick, Mackenzie, Bresnahan, and Perry’s failure to speak out against their Republican colleague’s horrid equivocation proves they’re unfit to represent Pennsylvanians.”
