Paging John Mica: the 1950’s called (AGAIN) & they want their Congressman back

Mica’s closing argument: sexist comments about women up and down the ballot

Out of touch Congressman John Mica, facing the political battle of his decades-long political career, has spent weeks insulting his accomplished opponent and echoing Donald Trump’s anti-woman rhetoric. It follows that with eight days left until Election Day, Mica has kicked in to high gear the only way he knows how: by ramping up his sexist comments and going for a true Halloween hat trick by demeaning women no less than three times in one day.

MORNING: Mica belittles his opponent (former national security specialist, community leader, businesswoman, and college educator) Stephanie Murphy in the Washington Post:

“Nice lady,” the congressman said, jumping back in, “but she’s not ready for prime-time.”

NOON: Mica’s flailing campaign desperately calls Murphy names. Of a candidate who has run an aggressive, smart campaign and brought the race within the margin of error, Mica’s campaign says she’s a “ghost” and “puppet” and calls on her to take off her “mask.”

NIGHT: While campaigning in Maitland for the Trump ticket, Mica insults the credentials of the most qualified presidential candidate in our nation’s history, Hillary Clinton. From the Orlando Sentinel:

“Then you have someone … has she ever even held a job?” Mica said of Clinton.

“Halloween or otherwise, the prospect of reelecting a career politician like John Mica who is so embarrassingly out of touch with women is truly frightening,” said Christie Stephenson of the DCCC. “While Mica’s comments today about Secretary Clinton sound like he ripped them directly from a sexist Trump tweetstorm, he has hurled the same misogynistic rhetoric at his opponent on numerous occasions. This competitive race has brought out Mica’s true, anti-woman colors, and his comments today are truly disqualifying.”
