Today, Paul Junge was endorsed by former Congressman Mike Bishop, whose embrace of the failed Republican health care plan lost him the election to Rep. Elissa Slotkin in 2018.
As a reminder, while in Congress, Bishop took hundreds of thousands of dollars from the insurance industry while voting to raise health care costs, charge older Michiganders five times more for their care, and strip protections for people with pre-existing conditions.
“If this is the type of endorsement Paul Junge is proud of, he’s widely out of step with Michiganders,” said DCCC Spokesperson Courtney Rice. “Voters in Michigan want a representative like Elissa Slotkin who is fighting to lower the cost of prescription drugs and increase access to affordable health care, not another dyed in the wool party lackey like Junge. Voters rejected Mike Bishop in 2018 for his dangerous attacks on health care and they’ll do the same with Junge in 2020.”
