Paul “Let’s Do It” LePage Has Always Stood With Anti-Abortion Extremists Over Women

Paul LePage got his biggest wish three years ago when the Supreme Court decided to overturn Roe v. Wade and take away a woman’s right to have an abortion. For years, LePage has made it crystal clear that he will always side with anti-abortion extremists over Maine women, encouraging the overturning of Roe and letting politicians ban abortion nationwide – even in Maine – with no exceptions for rape, incest or the life of the woman.

Let’s be clear: Paul LePage has repeatedly attacked Mainers’ reproductive freedoms for more than a decade.

LePage’s anti-abortion rap sheet includes:

• Saying point blank that “we should not have abortion.”
• Frequently attending anti-abortion rallies and standing at a podium with a sign saying “stop abortion now.”
• Cutting hundreds of thousands of dollars from the state family planning agency and blocking health care access for more than 105,000 Mainers.
• Agreeing that access to abortion should be restricted in a candidate survey.
• Responding “I don’t have time for abortion” and “abortion affects few Mainers” when asked about the topic just days after Roe was overturned.
