Why won’t Perry stand with law enforcement over terrorists?
Rep. Scott Perry has yet again turned his back on law enforcement. Today, as law enforcement officers recount the harrowing events of January 6th and plead for accountability and justice — we are reminded Perry has sided time and time again with the lies and partisanship of Donald Trump and Kevin McCarthy over these brave officers.
Perry, who downplayed events of January 6th, voted against a bipartisan commission to investigate the attack, and called a vote honoring police that defended the Capitol “garbage” is a prime example of the GOP turning its back on law enforcement.
Perry is responsible for egging on the Big Lie that led to the storming of the Capitol which law enforcement so bravely defended, attempting to oust the Acting Attorney General in a plot to overturn President Biden’s victory, spreading a lie that 100,000 illegitimate votes “showed up” for Biden after the election was over, leading “Stop the Steal” rallies, and signing onto a lawsuit to “invalidate millions of votes” in four swing states – including Pennsylvania.
Last night, Perry voted yet again with Kevin McCarthy to seat extreme partisans and Big Lie pushers Reps. Jim Banks and Jim Jordan to destroy the investigation. He has even pushed to punish the two Republicans who are participating on the committee.
James Singer, DCCC Spokesperson
“Scott Perry pushed lies about the election that led to the storming of the Capitol. His continued betrayal of democracy is an embarrassment to Pennsylvania and the office he serves.”
