Pete Hegseth Spent Billions of Taxpayer Dollars on “Fruit Basket Stands,” a “Grand Piano,” & “An Astronomical Amount of Shellfish.” What Does Zach Nunn Think?

Now, new reporting finds that special guest and Nunn ally Pete Hegseth went on a multi-billion dollar spending spree, and that much of the spending under Hegseth’s watch “wasn’t used for anything that could be considered a pertinent military expense.”

Just a couple of the highlights in one month alone:

• $98,329 for a Steinway & Sons grand piano for the Air Force chief of staff’s home;
• $5.3 million for Apple devices such as the new iPad;
• $2 million for Alaskan king crab;
• $6.9 million worth of lobster tail;
• $15.1 million for ribeye steak;
• $124,000 for ice cream machines;
• $12,000 for fruit basket stands;
• $60,000+ for Herman Miller recliners.

NUNN MUST ANSWER: Do you approve of Iowans’ taxpayer dollars being lavishly spent on grand pianos, fruit basket stands, and shellfish?
