Mike Lawler just admitted point blank that he supports raising New Yorkers’ health care premiums.
In an interview with Fox Business yesterday, Lawler called for the repeal of Affordable Care Act tax credits – a move that experts say would raise the cost of health care for more than 240,000 New Yorkers and “will cost the average person 75% more.”
If Mike Lawler and House Republicans refuse to extend these credits, nearly 80,000 New Yorkers could lose health coverage entirely. That’s in addition to the 1.5 million New Yorkers who will be left uninsured as a result of Lawler’s Big, Ugly Law.
DCCC Spokesperson Riya Vashi:
“While New Yorkers struggle with rising costs, Mike Lawler is screwing them over in Washington by ripping away their health care and jacking up their premiums. He’s choosing politics over people and putting New York families, hospitals, and communities on the brink. The Hudson Valley deserves a fighter—not a sellout to billionaires.”
