Bruce Poliquin isn’t being straight with Maine voters about his own business experience. That’s according to a new report from the Lewiston Sun-Journal. The report notes:
“One of the things he’s [Poliquin] touted a number of times is that he successfully managed pensions at Bath Iron Works during his years in the world of finance.
“But some say that’s misleading. […]
“In a press release from Avatar announcing the move that year, overlooked since the time, Poliquin sought to allay any worries that his departure would have an impact on the company’s work.
“’I’ve never been involved in the investment process so this will have zero affect on the investment management for clients,’ he said in a sweeping statement that includes the pension management Avatar carried out for employees at the Bath firm.”
“Poliquin isn’t being straight with Maine voters about his own business experience,” said Bryan Lesswing at the DCCC. “But Poliquin misleading voters about his own record isn’t really a surprise, like when he preached tax accountability but dodged paying his own taxes. In the end, Poliquin is a politician who always tries to have it both ways – which is why he can’t be trusted.”
