Poll: Eggman and Denham in Statistical Dead Heat in CA-10

Voters Connect Denham to Unpopular Trump

A poll released today conducted by Latino Decisions shows challenger local farmer Michael Eggman in a statistical dead heat with vulnerable millionaire Congressman Jeff Denham in the race for California’s 10th Congressional District.

In the initial head-to-head, Eggman trails Denham by only three points – 43 percent to 46 percent – well within the margin of error. After hearing biographical information on both candidates, Eggman leads Denham 49 percent to 46 percent.

Voters in this competitive and diverse district favor Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump by five points, and 61 percent have an unfavorable view of Trump.

More importantly, 41 percent think Denham shares Trump’s agenda and are less likely to support Denham for not standing up to Trump. Earlier this month Denham leaned into his support for the controversial nominee.

“This poll reaffirms that Central Valley voters are ready to reject billionaire Donald Trump and his minion millionaire Jeff Denham in November,” said Barb Solish of the DCCC.
