As families in Alabama are coping with the painful blow to reproductive care from the state Supreme Court’s latest ruling, Republican Young Kim is attempting to distract from her own extreme voting record.
It’s no wonder why. Just weeks ago, Kim voted for two anti-choice bills that would use federal funds to spread misinformation and prevent vulnerable communities from seeking essential reproductive care – after voting against the Women’s Health Protection Act.
With the Life at Conception Act, House Republicans are on a mission to impose similar restrictions on IVF and fertility treatments as the Alabama Supreme Court ruling – and ban abortion nationwide without exceptions in cases of rape or incest.
The overturning of Roe v. Wade opened the door to banning abortion nationwide, and restricting IVF treatment. So Californians deserve to know: why didn’t Young Kim protect Roe when she had the chance?
DCCC Spokesperson Dan Gottlieb:
“The Alabama Supreme Court decision threatening IVF is the latest effort by Republican extremists to chip away at women’s constitutional freedoms and deny them access to essential reproductive care. Time and again, Young Kim refuses to protect the freedoms of California women, no matter how aggressive the attacks – and voters will hold her accountable for it this November.” |
