President Biden Signs Historic Infrastructure Deal Michelle Steel Voted Against Into Law

Californians are getting a historic win today, no thanks to Michelle Steel

Today, President Biden signed into law the wildly popular bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act that Democrats worked to pass to deliver real results for families and workers across California. But you won’t see Rep. Michelle Steel celebrating this historic accomplishment — because she sided with party bosses and voted against the once-in-a-generation investment that will strengthen America’s Infrastructure and create millions of jobs.

This infrastructure deal marks the largest and most meaningful action on our nation’s infrastructure and competitiveness in nearly a century. Despite Michelle Steel’s reckless opposition, thanks to the work of President Biden and Congressional Democrats, families across California will now be able to directly feel the effects of the bill’s game-changing investments.

From fixing California’s crumbling roads and bridges, easing inflation, providing millions of Americans with good-paying union jobs, ensuring every Californian has access to high speed internet, delivering clean water to homes and schools, modernizing public transit, and helping save our environment from the climate crisis, families and workers across CA-48 will see the impacts of this legislation in nearly every corner of their lives.

“If Michelle Steel had her way, our nation’s crumbling infrastructure would continue to fall into disrepair,” said DCCC Spokesperson Helen Kalla. “Michelle Steel already proved that she would rather side with party bosses than deliver wins for CA-48. The signing of this once-in-a-generation legislation serves as a reminder that while Democrats are delivering, voters cannot rely on Michelle Steel to do the same.”
