Today, President Biden signed into law the wildly popular bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act that Democrats worked to pass to deliver real results for families and workers across Ohio. But you won’t see Rep. Steve Chabot celebrating this historic accomplishment — because he sided with party bosses and voted against the once-in-a-generation investment that will strengthen America’s infrastructure and create millions of jobs.
This infrastructure deal marks the largest and most meaningful action on our nation’s infrastructure and competitiveness in nearly a century. Despite Steve Chabot’s reckless opposition, thanks to the work of President Biden and Congressional Democrats, families across Ohio will soon be able to directly feel the effects of the bill’s game-changing investments.
From fixing crumbling roads and bridges in Ohio, easing inflation, providing millions of Americans with good-paying union jobs, ensuring every Ohioan has access to high speed internet, delivering clean water to homes and schools, modernizing public transit, and helping save our environment from the climate crisis, families and workers across Ohio will see the impacts of this legislation in nearly every corner of their lives.
“If Steve Chabot had his way, our nation’s crumbling infrastructure would continue to fall into disrepair,” said DCCC Spokesperson Abel Iraola. “Chabot already proved that he would rather side with party bosses than deliver wins for Ohio. The signing of this once-in-a-generation legislation serves as a reminder that while Democrats are delivering, voters cannot rely on Steve Chabot to do the same.”
