President Biden Signs Historic Infrastructure Deal that Carlos Gimenez and Maria Elvira Salazar Voted Against Into Law

South Floridians are getting a historic win today, no thanks to Carlos Gimenez and Maria Elvira Salazar

Today, President Biden signed into law the wildly popular bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act that Democrats worked to pass to deliver real results for families and workers across Florida. But you won’t see Reps. Carlos Gimenez and Maria Elvira Salazar celebrating this historic accomplishment — because they sided with party bosses and voted against the once-in-a-generation investment that will strengthen America’s infrastructure and create millions of jobs.

This infrastructure deal marks the largest and most meaningful action on our nation’s infrastructure and competitiveness in nearly a century. Despite Carlos and Maria Elvira’s reckless opposition, thanks to the work of President Biden and Congressional Democrats, families across South Florida will soon be able to directly feel the effects of the bill’s game-changing investments.

From fixing crumbling roads and bridges in Florida, easing inflation, providing millions of Americans with good-paying union jobs, ensuring every Floridian has access to high speed internet, delivering clean water to homes and schools, modernizing public transit, and helping save our environment from the climate crisis, families and workers across South Florida will see the impacts of this legislation in nearly every corner of their lives.

“If Carlos Gimenez and Maria Elvira Salazar had their way, our nation’s crumbling infrastructure would continue to fall into disrepair,” said DCCC Spokesperson Abel Iraola. “Carlos and Maria Elvira have already proved that they would rather side with party bosses than deliver wins for South Florida. The signing of this once-in-a-generation legislation serves as a reminder that while Democrats are delivering, voters cannot rely on Carlos Gimenez and Maria Elvira Salazar to do the same.”
