Congressman Bob Dold has a problem: he’s forgotten he’s been in Congress before and voted nearly three dozen times to give insurance companies unchecked power to deny care, drop coverage, and hike costs. Last night, Dold had the audacity to claim he voted against ACA repeal – on his 35th try – because it was a “symbolic vote”.
“Facing stiff 2016 electoral headwinds, Congressman Bob Dold is desperately trying to rewrite his record of voting to hand power to the special interests that back his campaigns,” said Tyrone Gayle of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. “Congressman Dold’s sudden ‘change of heart’ over repealing the ACA is a political ploy that Illinois voters will see through, and they won’t forget the other 34 times he didn’t have the courage to do what was right.”
