Projecting Much?? Monica De La Cruz Lies About Efforts to Cut Medicare

Monica De La Cruz seems to have forgotten that she and her Republican colleagues are the ones trying to cut Medicare benefits. The vulnerable Republican boldly lied on the RNC stage Wednesday, saying, “They [Democrats] give benefits to illegal immigrants and cut Medicare advantage for our seniors.”

Is De La Cruz confused? Are we playing uno?

Monica De La Cruz knows that she is the one trying to cut Medicare. Unlike her and her baseless lies, we have receipts:

• • De La Cruz is part of the Republican Study Committee that recommended cutting Social Security and ending Medicare as we know it.

• De La Cruz even went as far as supporting a constitutional amendment that would threaten Social Security and Medicare.

  • The AARP rightfully fought back against the amendment, noting that it could be “devastating for millions of Americans” and result in “potentially deep cuts” to Social Security and Medicare.
