| Today, the DCCC announced that prosecutor Zach Dembo has been added to the committee’s highly competitive ‘Red to Blue’ program, signaling that the DCCC is invested in providing Dembo, a top-tier candidate, with the support needed to continue building a winning campaign as he runs for Kentucky’s 6th Congressional District.
“From serving our country in uniform, to serving alongside Governor Andy Beshear to help move Kentucky forward, prosecutor Zach Dembo has proven that he will always put service over self and take on corruption wherever he sees it. Momentum is fully behind Zach’s campaign as he prosecutes the case against corrupt politician Ralph Alvarado, and he will bring Central Kentuckyians’ voices with him to Congress when he flips this seat in November,” said DCCC Chair Rep. Suzan DelBene.
Ninth-generation Kentuckian Zach Dembo has dedicated his life to serving our country and standing up to corruption wherever he sees it. Zach spent more than 4 years in the Navy on active duty, commissioned as an officer in the Judge Advocate General’s (JAG) Corps. After serving his country in uniform, Zach became a federal prosecutor in the US Department of Justice where he went after violent criminals and saw firsthand just how broken and corrupt Washington has become. Zach also served Governor Andy Beshear as a policy advisor, working alongside him to move Kentucky forward. Now Zach is running to bring Central Kentucky’s voice to Congress and fight corruption head on, just like he’s always done.
Multiple public polls prove that KY-06 is a toss up race, including a July poll showing that Dembo and Alvarado are tied at 47 percent. Dembo is boosted by his support from ultra-popular Governor Andy Beshear, while Alvarado is weighed down by his history of corruption and his association with failed candidate Matt Bevin.
