Peel back the spin, look at the raw numbers, and it is clear that the battlefield the DCCC began building at the beginning of 2019 is backed up by the strength of Frontline fundraising, the Committee’s record breaking fundraising, and Democratic challengers already beginning to outraise Republicans in targeted offensive seats.
DCCC Chairwoman Cheri Bustos released the following statement:
“There is no substitute for hard work, and no one can question that Democratic Frontline Members and challenger candidates have put in the hours and the effort to bring us to where we are today. Democrats are in a strong position to grow and expand this Majority and I look forward to continuing the work of the American people as we tackle the cost of health care, invest in jobs for everyday working folks, and stand proudly for the rule of law.”
Q3 Fundraising Quick Facts:
- 33 Frontline Members hold over $1,000,000 cash on hand.
- 28 Frontline Members raised over $500,000.
- At the end of Q3 of 2019, Democratic Frontline Members have almost $59 million on hand.
- At least 8 Democratic challengers outraised GOP incumbents in Q3.
Bonus Fact:
The DCCC’s $27.4 million raised in Q3 of 2019 reflects a nearly $6 million increase over Q3 of 2017. While the NRCC still has not released its fundraising, this is the second quarter in a row where the DCCC has outraised every Democratic candidate for President.
