In a key moment from last night’s NY-17 debate, Army Combat Vet Cait Conley slammed Mike Lawler’s record of putting data center developers ahead of the Hudson Valley.
Cait Conley:“You saw how quickly my opponent wanted to get off this topic. That’s because five data centers were built on his watch, including while he was a deputy town supervisor, and now there are three more on the way.”
“He is looking out for data center developers. You can see it in a provision of the One Big Ugly Bill that he doesn’t like to talk about and is going to try to spin: $80 billion in tax breaks for data center developers.”
“Look at Mike and his campaign: hundreds of thousands of dollars have been pumped in from big tech. He is absolutely fighting for someone, but it’s not us. It’s them.”
Meanwhile, Mike Lawler spent the debate shamelessly attempting to cover up his record of promoting the development of data centers across Rockland County and handing out billions in tax breaks to data center developers — all while New Yorkers foot the bill for his special interests giveaway and higher utility bills.
DCCC Spokesperson Riya Vashi: “Hudson Valley voters don’t want another slimy career politician enriching himself while his own constituents foot the bill, they want real representation. While Mike Lawler failed to defend his record of voting to give billions in tax breaks to data center developers, billionaires, and special interests at the expense of his own district, Cait Conley proved again that she will put Hudson Valley families first in Washington every single time.”
