QUICK CLIP: Joe Mitchell Says He Will Vote to Repeal the Affordable Care Act

At last night’s debate, Joe Mitchell said in his own words that he would vote to repeal the Affordable Care Act.

MODERATOR: “You’ve called the Affordable Care Act a disaster. Would you vote to repeal it?”
MITCHELL: “Yeah, I would vote to repeal it.”

KEY TO KNOW: Repealing the Affordable Care Act would jeopardize care for Iowans with preexisting conditions – like cancer.

This is the latest in Mitchell’s record backing cuts to health care hurting Iowans.

  • Mitchell backs the Big Beautiful Bill that cut health care for Iowans to fund tax breaks for billionaires – now 25,000 Iowans in IA-02 are on track to lose their health care coverage and another 26,000 have seen their health care premiums skyrocket.
  • These cuts are making Iowa’s rural health care crisis worse and closing down clinics. A clinic in Traer closed completely and clinics in Mason City and Grinnell have seen layoffs due to the billions of dollars in cuts to rural health care in the bill Mitchell supports.
