A new poll from Quinnipiac shows Democrats out to a 12-point lead over Republicans on the generic midterm ballot.
Democrats also hold strong leads on the core issues of the midterms, costs and corruption. Voters favor Dems by 13 points on who can do a better job of handling cost of living, and by 12 points on who can do a better job of handling corruption in government.
The results add to Democrats’ momentum as they widen their midterm advantage and Republicans fall further behind. Last week, a poll from NPR/Marist also gave Dems a 12-point lead, and the non-partisan Cook Political Report shifted 15 races in Democrats’ favor, including 12 Republican-held seats.
DCCC Spokesperson Liam Buckley:
“With 5 weeks to go until Election Day, the numbers just keep getting worse for House Republicans. Democrats are winning on the issues, and voters are reminded of it every time they fill up their gas tanks, check out at the grocery store, and pay their health care bills.”
