California’s 13th (CA - 13)

Updated: July 20, 2022

Overview

This district is overwhelmingly negative about the direction of the country and frustrated with politicians on both sides of the aisle – in particular with regards to the economy, and inflation. John Duarte is not one of us — HE’S SO ARROGANT, THAT HE THINKS HE IS above the law and only cares about himself.

Summary

Voters need to see TV ads on Sacramento and Fresno broadcast that:

  • John Duarte acts like he is above the law. A Judge ruled that Duarte knowingly sold “defective trees” to LOCAL farmers [click on ruling, here] — but Duarte refused to refund the farmers’ money — costing family farmers hundreds of thousands and in some cases millions of dollars.  Duarte destroyed protected lands and was forced to pay a million dollar fine.  And Duarte had to be chased down to pay over $2 million in unpaid taxes.  Yet Duarte has given nearly a half a million dollars to his Congressional campaign.

Hispanic voters need to hear radio ads in Fresno and Modesto and Hispanic persuadable Democratic and NPP voters need to learn from digital ads in both English and Spanish about:

Additional Resources

Tone is important here — it needs to be matter-of-fact, NOT scary or angry or over the top.  Voters need to see and hear from real, Central Valley farmers who have either been personally affected by Duarte’s shady business practices or who completely understand and relate to those farmers who have.
