Mike Garcia

California’s 27th (CA - 27)

Updated: October 9, 2024

Overview

Candidate CPP:
LA: $1350

Voters need to see that Mike Garcia’s agenda helps himself while hurting California families.

Summary

Voters in the Los Angeles media market – especially English-speaking Latino voters and voters registered without a party preference – need to see ads on broadcast, cable, streaming and digital district-wide that:

  • Mike Garcia has said he is “pro-life without exception,” and he co-authored a bill to ban abortion nationwide that would make abortion illegal in California – even for victims of rape or incest. If Garcia is re-elected, he will try again to pass a national abortion ban  that overrides California’s protections and takes away women’s rights and freedoms.
  • Mike Garcia took $811,267 from Wall Street, which wants to cut and privatize seniors’ benefits, and he proposed a budget that would gut Social Security and privatize Medicare, putting seniors’ hard-earned benefits at risk.

If voters see additional positive communication about George Whitesides, they should see English-language ads on broadcast that:

  • Mike Garcia was already caught lying in his ads, and now he’s lying about George Whitesides too. The truth is that, as a father of young kids, George will always fight for families in Congress by working with both parties to address the issues that matter most – like cutting taxes for the middle class, lowering the cost of living, and putting more cops on the street to keep our communities safe.

Democrats and voters registered without party preference – especially Latino voters registered without party preference – need to hear on the doors and read literature about George Whitesides and Mike Garcia:

George Whitesides cares about California families and will put them first in Congress:

  • George is a former NASA Chief of Staff and CEO of an aerospace company that created hundreds of good-paying jobs in our area, and he’s worked with local schools to prepare students for the jobs of the future.
  • In Congress, George will work to cut taxes for the middle class and lower the cost of living so more families can afford to live in California. And he will always fight to protect seniors’ hard-earned benefits like Social Security and Medicare.
  • George will fight to protect abortion rights and stand up against MAGA politicians who want to pass a national abortion ban, with no exceptions for rape or incest, that would ban abortion in California.

Mike Garcia’s agenda hurts California families:

  • Mike Garcia said he is “pro-life without exception,” and he co-authored a bill to ban abortion nationwide that would make abortion illegal in California – even for victims of rape or incest. Garcia even supported allowing states to arrest, prosecute, and imprison women who get an abortion.
  • Mike Garcia proposed a budget that would gut Social Security funding and privatize Medicare, putting seniors’ hard-earned benefits at risk.
  • Mike Garcia is pushing to repeal healthcare protections for pre-existing conditions and the law that lowers the cost of prescription drugs, like insulin.
