Ralph Alvarado
Kentucky’s 6th (KY - 06)
Updated: September 3, 2026
Overview
Zach Dembo served his country as a Naval officer and a federal prosecutor who took on corruption and put violent criminals behind bars. Ralph Alvarado is part of the same corrupt political system that has worked for insiders and big corporations while raising our costs.
- Starting 8 weeks before Election Day, voters in the Lexington media market need to see ads on broadcast TV and cable and digital ads on CTV, YouTube, and other streaming platforms about how:
- Alvarado ran as Matt Bevin’s running mate and supported Bevin’s attacks on seniors and families. The same year Alvarado ran with him, Bevin granted 428 pardons and commutations for criminals, including to a child rapist, drawing criticism even from other Republicans.
- Alvarado opposed Governor Beshear’s expansion of Medicaid at the time and now supports massive cuts to this program that will result in 200,000 Kentuckians losing their coverage and could close rural hospitals.
- As a state legislator, Alvarado fought to make it harder to hold nursing homes accountable for bad behavior, even while serving as medical director for several nursing homes that were fined for incidents like neglecting patients, and even one that settled multiple wrongful death lawsuits.
Summary
- Voters need to know Dembo’s bio: Navy veteran, prosecutor, senior advisor to Beshear.
- In Kentucky, Democratic registration does not necessarily mean voters are self-described Democrats, particularly among older voters and voters outside of Fayette County.
