Bill Huizenga
Michigan’s 4th (MI - 04)
Updated: August 17, 2026
Overview
Bill Huizenga is a self-serving career politician who has spent his entire tenure looking out for himself and his corporate donors, not the people he’s supposed to represent. And after more than two decades in Washington and Lansing, we need change.
SUMMARY:
Starting 8 weeks before the Election and ending 7 weeks before the Election, voters should see ads on broadcast TV in the Grand Rapids media market and on OTT and streaming that:
- Huizenga voted to cut taxes for the wealthy, gave himself a $50,000 personal tax break while his net worth increased as much as fivefold in office, and he voted against banning insider trading. He even paid his brother over $400,000 in campaign funds.
- While Michigan families struggle with rising costs, Huizenga keeps making things more expensive — voting to raise energy bills, cut healthcare coverage and drive up premiums, and backing Trump’s tariffs and the war in Iran that are sending gas and grocery prices higher.
- And while voting against the will of Michigan’s people, Bill Huizenga raked in over $1.3 million from Michigan utility companies and special interests.
As soon as possible voters across the district, but especially persuadable voters, voters under 35, and voters of color, need to read that Sean McCann is the leader who will take on Washington’s broken, corrupt, self-dealing political culture and stand up to powerful interests for regular people in western Michigan and Huizenga is a career politician who has enriched himself while raising costs on Michiganders.
- Sean has a record of standing up to slumlords, polluters like big oil, and utility companies — and rejecting their money in his own campaign.
- Sean has a plan to ban members of Congress from trading stocks, get special interest money out of politics, and end massive tax breaks for billionaires and corporations.
