Overview

Michael Bouchard Jr. isn’t one of us; he’s from Birmingham and handpicked by the political insiders and corporate lobbyists making our lives more expensive. They know he’ll fall in line and do what he’s told, even though it raises our cost of living.

SUMMARY

Starting 9 weeks before the general election voters should see ads on streaming and Youtube and receive mail, and starting 5 weeks before Election Day through Election Day, voters need to read mail and see ads on Detroit broadcast, CTV/OTT, YouTube, and other non-skippable digital ad platforms about how:

  • Birmingham Bouchard is the son of a career politician and a plant from political insiders who will fall in line and do what he’s told. Bouchard is from Birmingham and worked a cushy job at a lobbying firm that helped powerful health insurers charge Michigan families more. Multiple lobbyists and insiders told him to run for office and are funding his campaign because they know that when push comes to shove, he’ll side with them over working families here in Southeast Michigan.
  • Birmingham Bouchard’s lobbying firm worked for big health insurance and big pharma companies that made all of our premiums and prescriptions more expensive. So it’s no surprise that he backed a bill that will kick over 32,000 people in this district off of their health insurance and let insurance companies raise Michiganders’ premiums by as much as 30% – all to pay for tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy who fund his campaign. He’s not looking out for the people of this district, he’s falling in line with his party bosses and the special interests backing him.
  • Birmingham Bouchard fell in line and backed tariffs even after they cost the auto industry over $35 billion and thousands of Michigan jobs. He supports policies that let insurance companies raise Michiganders’ premiums by 30% and allow utility companies to increase our energy costs by hundreds each year.

Starting immediately and running through Election Day, Democratic sporadic voters and Black voters need to receive mail about how to request a ballot to vote by mail. They also need to receive mail, see ads on streaming and Youtube, and hear radio ads about how:

  • Christina Hines is one of us. Christina grew up in Warren, graduated from Warren Woods Tower, and worked several jobs, including one at Home Depot to get through college and law school. She became a prosecutor, working alongside law enforcement to put away the worst of the worst and keep our community safe.
  • Christina was an SVU prosecutor. She did not care if the murderers, rapists and pedophiles she put behind bars were Democrats or Republicans. She stands up to anyone who hurts Michiganders no matter their party.
  • While beginning her own family, Christina was a caregiver for her mom as she battled chronic illness. As a working mom, she knows too many Michigan families are working hard but still struggling to make ends meet. In Congress, Christina will put the middle class first and lower costs by cracking down on corrupt politicians in both parties who allow their corporate donors to price gouge. She will fight for housing we can afford, good-paying manufacturing jobs, and to lower healthcare costs. She has never and will never take a dime from corporate PACs.
  • Birmingham Bouchard is the son of a career politician and a plant from political insiders and lobbyists who know he’ll fall in line and do what he’s told. That’s why they started a super PAC to support his campaign. 
  • Birmingham Bouchard falls in line with Donald Trump. He said he wants to be Trump’s “ally in Congress” and Bouchard “couldn’t name any areas where he disagreed with Trump” long after Trump raised the cost of goods with tariffs, passed the largest Medicaid cut in history, and hiked health care premiums.
  • Birmingham Bouchard even falls in line on abortion. He’s backed by a group that wants to reinstate Michigan’s extreme 1931 abortion ban that would jail doctors and nurses for doing their jobs, even in cases of rape and incest.

  • Voters need to understand that Birmingham Bouchard is not his father, who is popular with many. Two things make Junior particularly different from his father:
    • That he’ll follows orders from the party bosses and lobbyists who signed his paycheck, pushed him to run, and are funding his campaign; 
    • And that he’s falling in line with extremists. He’s backed by a group that wants to reinstate Michigan’s extreme 1931 abortion ban that would jail doctors and nurses for doing their jobs, even in cases of rape and incest.
  • Early and Absentee voting is critical, so voters need to receive strong communications starting 8 weeks before the general election and through four weeks before the general election.
  • Further polling is needed on the impact of Birmingham Bouchard’s support of the proliferation of Data Centers and their impact on consumers’ costs, and that he falls in line with Donald Trump.
  • Voters need to see ads with a tone that reflects the gravity of the hardships voters are facing. Voters need to hear that Junior will fall in line and do what he’s told, but do not need to see over the top rhetoric and imagery.
