Overview
David Flippo is a liar and a fraud who can’t be trusted. We can’t afford another corrupt politician who thinks he’s above the law and uses a rigged system to help himself while Northern Nevadans pay the price.
SUMMARY
Voters in the Reno media market need to see broadcast TV ads and voters district-wide need to see ads on cable, YouTube, streaming, and Meta about how David Flippo is a liar and a fraud who has broken the law and can’t be trusted:
- Flippo falsely claimed he earned a Bronze Star “for valor,” a distinction reserved for heroism in combat. He received a standard Bronze Star. He and his campaign repeated this claim more than a dozen times in campaign fundraising over three years. From 2023 until at least June 2026 he wore a hat with V-shaped emblems that signify “for valor” next to his Bronze Star. When he was caught for lying, Flippo blamed his staff and even his grandchildren. After the story broke, the hat disappeared.
- Flippo is hiding his finances and where the millions behind his campaign are coming from. He broke the law by failing to file his financial disclosure, and the draft he gave reporters was apparently missing the page where he’d have to swear, under penalty of law, that it’s true. One person listed as a major Flippo donor says they never gave him anything. A campaign finance expert said that “suggests very serious campaign finance violations,” and donating in someone else’s name can bring criminal penalties.
- Flippo’s commanding officer in the US Air Force even said, “I relieved him shortly thereafter for loss of confidence in his ability to command.”
- Even Republican Congressman Mark Amodei, who holds the seat now, called Flippo “a fraud” and refused to endorse him.

- When asked about the Iran War, David Flippo said, “I fully support [it].” Flippo will continue to support a war that has already cost taxpayers $265 billion and is jacking up our gas prices every day. Nevada families can’t afford David Flippo when prices for everything – food, gas and electric bills, and healthcare – keep going up.
- David Flippo strongly supports legislation that gives massive tax cuts for corporations and the wealthy all while increasing healthcare costs by 26% for Northern Nevada families, threatening to close four Nevada hospitals and clinics, and risking health coverage for 100,000 Nevadans.
- Flippo opposes higher wages for Nevada workers. He even said he would consider replacing his own employees at his company with AI if he was required to pay them more. Flippo would rather outsource jobs to AI than pay workers a fair wage.
Republican women voters need to see ads on YouTube, streaming, and Meta about how:
- There are three candidates in this race, Democrat Teresa Benitez-Thompson, Republican David Flippo, and Independent American Party candidate Lynn Chapman.
- Mark Amodei, our district’s retiring Republican Congressman, refuses to endorse David Flippo. Amodei called Flippo a fraud and said, quote, “I’m not having my last action walking out the door to hug a guy who I think is a fraud.” Amodei has also called Flippo “arrogant and…disrespectful” to local voters in Northern Nevada. Republican leaders like Amodei say he and Flippo are not even on the same political “team.”
- David Flippo is endorsed by the same politicians who repeatedly voted to block releasing the Epstein files. Flippo would fall in line with the DC swamp to cover for the rich and powerful. He fights for them, not us.
- Lynn Chapman, the Independent American Party candidate, has spent decades fighting for conservative values in Carson City. She’s campaigning on defending the Constitution, stopping illegal immigration, and fighting tax increases on Nevada families.
