Rob Bresnahan

Pennsylvania’s 8th (PA - 08)

Updated: September 14, 2024

Overview

Candidate CPP:
Wilkes-Barre, Scranton: $155

Rob Bresnahan has repeatedly sold-out the interests of Northeastern Pennsylvanians to the corporate and partisan interests that are backing his campaign. His promises to help Northeastern Pennsylvanians therefore lack any credibility.

Summary

Voters in the Wilkes-Barre media market need to keep seeing ads on broadcast and cable, and all voters district-wide still need to keep seeing ads on digital and streaming about:

  • Bresnahan said that the Dobbs decision to overturn Roe v. Wade and allow states to enforce extreme abortion bans across the country “did exactly what it should do.” And he is proud to be endorsed by Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, who co-sponsored multiple bills to ban abortion with no exceptions and supports legislation that would criminalize fertility treatments and restrict access to birth control.

Starting the seventh week out from the election, voters in the Wilkes-Barre media market need to see ads on broadcast and cable, and all voters district-wide need to see ads on digital and streaming that:

  • Bresnahan is the hand-picked candidate of Republican leaders in Washington whose proposed budget would cut veterans’ benefits by twenty-two percent and could lay off more than one hundred thousand teachers and aides, eliminate health care coverage for ten million Americans, and fire twenty-eight thousand law enforcement officers – all to pay for tax cuts for wealthy CEOs like Bresnahan and large corporations.

Starting the sixth week out from the election, voters in the Wilkes-Barre media market need to see ads on broadcast and cable, and all voters district-wide need to see ads on digital and streaming that:

  • Bresnahan says that “every dollar I’ve ever made has been reinvested into Northeastern Pennsylvania because I love Northeastern Pennsylvania.’ But after his grandparents turned over the family business to him at age 19, he turned around and sold it out to a private equity firm that works closely with investors from China and Russia. Now he is clearly lying about reinvesting only in Northeastern Pennsylvania, as he has invested his personal wealth in other parts of the country and the world.
