Today, Cook Political Report shifted AZ-02 towards Democrats, proving the strength of Rep. Tom O’Halleran’s candidacy and the weakness of extreme MAGA candidate Eli Crane despite the new map lines Republicans engineered to try to flip this district.
Eli Crane is an extremist who wants to ban abortion with no exceptions for rape or incest, and shamelessly promoted the conspiracy that the 2020 presidential election was stolen. It’s clear that even in this district Republicans drew for themselves, Crane’s agenda is a dud – in August, an internal poll from the Crane campaign showed Rep. Tom O’Halleran within one point of the Republican, well within the margin of error.
Tom O’Halleran is no stranger to tough fights – and as a former police officer and business owner, Tom’s message stands in stark contrast with Eli Crane’s extreme agenda to ban health care and toss out Arizonans’ votes.
