This morning, the non-partisan Cook Political Report declared that Rep. Andy Barr’s seat in Congress is no longer safe, downgrading their rating of his race from “Solid Republican.” The ratings change comes as the DCCC has flooded the airwaves in Kentucky’s sixth district with ads to remind voters that their healthcare is not safe as long as Barr and Washington Republicans remain in Congress.
“Being a solid vote for Speaker Paul Ryan’s reckless healthcare repeal has put Rep. Andy Barr on shaky ground in Central Kentucky,” said DCCC spokesman Jacob Peters. “Rep. Andy Barr has said it’s ‘only a matter of time’ until he and Paul Ryan succeed in their effort to rip away Kentuckians’ healthcare, but it may only be a matter of time until Barr gets replaced in Congress.”
