- We’re less than two months away from the midterm election, and Democrats have been putting in the work to earn Latino voters’ support by focusing on the issues voters care about most: the economy, the cost of living, and safety for them and their families.
- Since Trump returned to office, Republicans have taken Latino support for granted, leaving behind a litany of broken promises and angry voters. To pay for massive tax breaks for their billionaire backers, House Republicans proudly voted to rip health care away from millions of hardworking families. They’ve voted to fund Trump’s reckless war in the Middle East, causing gas prices to spike. And they’ve fallen in line behind Trump’s sweeping tariffs that have made everything more expensive.
- Instead of focusing on the ‘worst of the worst’ like they promised, Republicans rubberstamped an out of control ICE to terrorize our communities, separating families and hurting our local businesses. ICE’s unchecked actions have resulted in the deportation and deaths of Americans on our streets — another shameful broken promise.
- Make no mistake, Latino voters have soured on Republicans’ failed leadership and they will hold them accountable at the ballot box this November. Latino voters deserve to be heard and they’ve made it clear that Republicans have consistently focused on the wrong priorities.
- Latino voters have been the difference makers in recent elections, including helping propel Democrats to victory in Virginia and New Jersey’s gubernatorial races last fall. This November, Latino voters will again determine the winners in some of the most competitive races across the country, from Arizona to California to Colorado to Florida to Pennsylvania to New York and Texas. House Democrats will continue working every day to earn the trust of Latino voters, including those who have supported Republicans in the past but have been betrayed by their broken promises.
- Voters are not only voting against Republicans – people want to vote FOR something. That’s why Democrats have been reaching out early and often to earn their support. We are meeting Latino voters where they are at with candidates who are from these districts and have deep roots in their communities they’re running to represent. In AZ-06, Jo Mendoza, a Marine Corps veteran and daughter of farmworkers, is running to be working Southern Arizonans’ champion in Congress. Bobby Pulido, a Latin Grammy-winning Tejano music star and a son of the RGV, is running to deliver what the people of TX-15 need: lower grocery costs, affordable health care, and an opportunity to achieve their American dream. In NM-02, Rep. Gabe Vasquez, who has spent his time in Congress supporting law enforcement and fighting to lower costs, has a record of putting New Mexicans over any party agenda.

- We are in the final stretch of this election cycle, and Democrats are taking no vote for granted. For too long, Latino voters have not felt heard by Republicans and they’re loudly calling for change and new leadership that puts hardworking Americans first. We’ll be working nonstop until November 3rd – and when we’re in the majority – to show voters they have a choice and can elect leaders who have the right priorities and will fight for their families every single day, not leave behind a trail of broken promises.
