REED VOTES TO TAKE AWAY CRITICAL PROTECTIONS FOR PEOPLE WITH PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS

Yesterday, during a Ways & Means Committee hearing Rep. Tom Reed once again voted to take away key protections for people with pre-existing conditions in New Yorker’s 23rd Congressional District. There are 289,400 people – 51% of residents – with pre-existing conditions in the district. DCCC spokesperson Amanda Sherman released the following statement:

“Rep. Tom Reed has once again sided with party bosses in Washington over his constituents, voting to allow insurance companies to deny coverage to the hundreds of thousands of people in his district with asthma, diabetes, and other pre-existing conditions. The people of New York’s 23rd Congressional District will remember this betrayal in November.”
