Rejected Former Congressman David Valadao Still Running on Disastrous Health Care Repeal

In 2018, hardworking Californians fired former Congressman David Valadao over his efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act and gut protections for people with pre-existing conditions — not to mention his vote to give a massive tax break to the wealthy and giant corporations that is expected to add $1.5 trillion to the national debt over the next 10 years.

Now, Washington Republicans like Valadao are running to revive the same Washington Republican agenda that Californians rejected last year.

As Bloomberg reported on Friday, House minority leader Kevin McCarthy has officially unveiled his number one priority should his party win back the House: Republicans plan to reduce the debt they caused by repealing the Affordable Care Act.

“Last election, Central Valley voters rejected David Valadao because he broke his promise to lower heath care costs and protect coverage for 60,000 Californians with pre-existing conditions. With Valadao and his fellow Washington Republicans running on the exact same harmful agenda this time around, why on earth should the families of the Central Valley give him another chance?” asked DCCC Spokesperson Andy Orellana. “Clearly failed Congressman David Valadao didn’t get the message last time, but he’ll learn this time when Central Valley voters again reject in 2020 the morally bankrupt Trump-Valadao agenda.”
