In a cowardly attempt to cover her tracks, Republican Anna Paulina Luna is now pretending to care about her constituents, feigning concern over food assistance funding running out as House Republicans remain on vacation during the government shutdown.
Has Anna Paulina Luna forgotten that she created this crisis?
Luna cast a decisive vote for the largest cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program in history, gutting nearly $300 billion in food assistance that 29,000 households in her district rely on – nearly 50% of those households have children. Luna’s vote also jeopardizes SNAP benefits for older Americans, caregivers, and working parents with young children, by creating more barriers for families to access benefits.
