Lawler’s sudden “concern” about drug prices is nothing more than a political stunt
Mike Lawler is once again trying to rewrite his extreme record — this time on prescription drug prices.
After years of putting Big Pharma’s profits in Washington over Hudson Valley families, Lawler is now trying to convince voters that he’s suddenly a champion for lowering drug costs. But the facts tell a very different story.
Let’s be clear: Mike Lawler had every opportunity to lower prescription drug costs while in Congress. Instead, he OPPOSED legislation:
Allowing Medicare to negotiate down the cost of prescription drugs.
Capping the cost of insulin for Medicare recipients at $35 a month.
Saving New Yorkers an average of $390 per year on prescription drug costs.
Unfortunately for Lawler, sucking up to Donald Trump and voicing support for one do-nothing letter doesn’t erase a career of protecting Big Pharma.
DCCC Spokesperson Riya Vashi: “If Mike Lawler actually cared about lowering drug prices, he wouldn’t have spent the entirety of his Congressional career doing Big Pharma’s bidding. When New Yorkers desperately needed relief from sky-high drug costs, Lawler sided with billionaire corporations over his own constituents – and Hudson Valley voters will see right through this pathetic attempt to rewrite his record.”
