REMINDER: Bill Huizenga Voted NO on Funding Program To Reopen the Palisades Plant

REMINDER: Bill Huizenga voted AGAINST the funding being used to reopen Holtec’s Palisades power plant.

Huizenga voted NO on the Inflation Reduction Act – which provided the funding to help finance the reopening of Palisades through its Energy Infrastructure Reinvestment (EIR) program’s loan guarantee.

USDA: “DOE, through its Loan Programs Office (LPO), announced the closing of a loan guarantee of up to $1.52 billion under the Inflation Reduction Act’s Energy Infrastructure Reinvestment (EIR) program to Holtec Palisades to help finance the restoration and resumption of service of an 800-MW nuclear generating station in Covert Township, Michigan.”

Phony liar Bill Huizenga must explain to Michiganders why he voted NO on funding that’s creating Michigan jobs.

DCCC Spokesperson Katie Smith:
“If Bill Huizenga got his way, Holtec Palisades wouldn’t have been able to reopen. Huizenga voted AGAINST establishing the very energy program that is reopening the plant and will lower costs and create good jobs. The fact is, Michiganders can’t trust a word phony Huizenga says.”
