Reminder: David Schweikert Voted Against Veterans Benefits

Schweikert then touted the benefits back home after he voted against the bill twice

President Biden announced that more than one million PACT Act claims have been approved, benefiting more than 888,000 veterans across the country. This is no thanks to David Schweikert, who voted against the PACT Act twice despite representing a district with over 38,000 veterans.

The PACT Act:

  • Expanded access to critical care for veterans who were exposed to dangerous toxic chemicals like radiation, Agent Orange, Gulf War toxins, and burn pits during their service

  • Extended the period of time that post-9/11 combat veterans have to enroll in VA health care from five years to 10 years

  • Authorized 31 new VA medical and research centers

  • Streamlined veterans’ ability to access critical resources and care

After voting against the bill twice, Schweikert touted the benefits and encouraged veterans to apply for it.

DCCC Spokesperson Lauryn Fanguen:
“David Schweikert sided with MAGA extreme Republicans and abandoned Arizona veterans. Voters won’t forget Schweikert’s inexcusable betrayal of the men and women who served our country.”
