Reminder: Extremist Kean Voted Against $500 Checks to New Jersey Families

Kean Worked to Protect His Fellow Millionaires Over New Jersey Families

Democrats in Congress passed the American Rescue Plan, which included stimulus checks and a middle class tax cut in the form of the Child Tax Credit that have helped millions of New Jerseyans.

Tom Kean Jr. has refused to take a position on the American Rescue Plan, but he has chosen to align himself with GOP leaders who opposed this package in lockstep.

But here in New Jersey, Kean Jr. has opposed a similar program. In June, Kean Jr. voted against a $500 tax rebate for middle and working class families across New Jersey. This rebate for 760,000 New Jersey families was funded by a millionaires’ tax — which Kean, himself a millionaire — opposed last fall and voted against at least six additional times in the past.

James Singer, DCCC Spokesperson

“For two decades Tom Kean Jr. has chosen wealthy Trenton insiders like himself over New Jersey’s working families. He’s now selling his soul to GOP extremists and Trump sycophants in hopes he won’t lose for a fourth time.  New Jersey families can’t afford Tom Kean Jr. in Congress.”
