| Gabe Evans is once again catching heat for blatantly lying to his constituents.
Last week, Evans boasted on social media that he secured $200 million in funding for rural Colorado hospitals. But he left out one key detail: Evans voted to gut over $1 billion a year in health care funds for Colorado, a cruel choice that dwarfs the new funding. Evans’ health care cuts are expected to force at least six Colorado hospitals to close and push more than 200,000 Coloradans off their health care, including nearly 30,000 people in his district.

While nearly 1 in 3 of Evans’ constituents rely on Medicaid and thousands brace for skyrocketing health care premiums that could raise costs nearly 200% in his district, Evans would rather spin lies than deliver real solutions for Coloradans.
DCCC Spokesperson Lindsay Reilly:
“Gabe Evans’ attempts to cover up his disastrous record are embarrassing. It’s clear that Evans prioritizes his D.C. party bosses and billionaire donors over his own constituents. It should come as no shock that Evans will continue hiding behind his screen while Colorado families continue to suffer.”

9 News: Colorado rural hospitals to receive $200M annually, but Medicaid cuts total more than $1B
- Republican Rep. Gabe Evans touted the $200 million in funding on social media, but the state is actually down in health care funding because of Medicaid changes made in last year’s budget bill, passed by the Republican-led Congress.
- “That bill, every year, will hit us with $1-to-$2.5 billion in reductions to all providers, to all Medicaid,” Bimestefer said.
- “Eighty percent of our rural hospitals don’t have a sustainable margin, so our facilities across the state are all in trouble,” Josh Hannes, vice president of rural policy and strategy for the Colorado Hospital Association, said.
