Reminder: Kevin Coughlin Thinks Ohioans Losing Their Health Care Is “A Win”

Last week, Washington Republicans passed their deeply unpopular tax scam, ripping away health care and food access from tens of thousands of people in Northeast Ohio, all to pay for massive tax breaks for their billionaire campaign donors.

And Kevin Coughlin cheered them on, calling this Big, Ugly Bill “a win” and repeatedly confirming his support for…

  • Ripping away health care from more than 31,500 people across OH-13 and raising health care costs.
  • Endangering Northeast Ohio’s economy and the 30,000 jobs across hospital systems – the district’s largest employer – like Aultman, Summa, and Mercy Medical, that depend on Medicaid payments to operate.
  • Risking access to food for more than 45,500 OH-13 households, over 44% of which have children.
  • Rolling back tax credits which will raise Ohioans’ electricity costs.

DCCC Spokesperson Katie Smith:
“Lobbyist Kevin Coughlin would have voted to take away health care, endanger Northeast Ohio jobs, take food away from children, and raise Ohioans’ costs. He cares more about giving tax breaks to the richest than actually serving Ohioans, who will reject him once again next year.”
