REMINDER: Two years ago today, Representative-elect George Santos – who has already lost the respect of Long Island voters – was proudly at the Stop the Steal Rally on January 6th, and even claimed it “was the most amazing crowd and the President was at his full awesomeness that day.”
Amid the lies and threats, Santos stood by and cheered on Donald Trump as he inspired an armed and deadly insurrection that led to the deaths of several Capitol Police officers, injured 140 officers, and seriously endangered the lives of his soon-to-be colleagues and the vitality of the Republic he claims to support.
Since then, Santos has been caught boasting about writing a “nice check” to help January 6th rioters get out on bail, saying:
“I’ve actually been working on funding a ton of them to get out. I went down to D.C. GITMO and I wrote a nice check to a law firm to see if we can help some of them out. Don’t want to publicize it.”
We cannot allow his mountain of lies and fraud to cloud one fundamental truth: George Santos is complicit in the deadly assault on our Capitol and our democracy.
